Cream cheese – Bring to room temperature. Using full-fat cream cheese will give you the creamiest cheesecake dip. Sugar – I use granulated sugar, but you can also use brown sugar if you want a more caramel flavor. Milk – Whole milk, 2% milk, or your favorite dairy or non-dairy milk works well. Vanilla – You can add a variety of flavors and extracts to make this dip. Try lemon, peppermint, or orange. Cool Whip – thawed. You can top it with homemade whipped cream if you like. Graham cracker crumbs – for garnish (optional). Crumble store-bought or homemade graham crackers (reserving the rest for dipping).

You also need a ladle
In addition to the ingredients listed above, you’ll need your favorite fruit, cookies, and a ladle of your choice. I like to make a platter or serve this dip as part of a dessert charcuterie board with a variety of options.

How to quickly soften cream cheese
If you forgot to take the cream cheese out of the refrigerator in advance, fill a large heatproof glass or ceramic bowl with boiling water. Make sure the bowl is large enough to fit over the cream cheese brick. Wait about 5 minutes and drain the water. Place bowl over cream cheese. After about 5-10 minutes, the cream cheese will become soft! Otherwise, repeat these steps until you like it.
